The RPK light machine gun was developed in the late 1950's alongside the then new AKM assault rifle. Notable differences between the RPK and the AKM include a longer, heavier barre, nessesary for extended periods of fire without a substantial loss of accuracy to to the barrel heating up. It is also fitted with a new front sight base, gas block, cleaning rod guide, and folding bipod. The RPK continues to see use in many countries of the former Soviet Union, as well as many African and Asian nations. the LCT RPK NV Electric Airsoft Gun is an excellent representation of the real steel protoype.
