3 Gas Airsoft Pistols Under $100

Looking for a new airsoft pistol? Check out our guide below on 3 gas powered airsoft pistols that are under $100 each!

Umarex Gas Pistols

These are all going to be powered by CO2 and all of these will be partial blowback. Partial blowback is a type of pistol I feel doesn't get enough love and I will tell you why.

First, we have to clear up any confusion and explain the types of gas pistols out there. Gas pistols will be powered by either CO2 or something called Green Gas. The typical 12-gram CO2 comes in those tiny metallic cartridges that you can get just about anywhere in America. Green Gas on the other hand comes in a fairly large canister and is harder to find outside of a dedicated airsoft store. CO2 is a higher pressure gas and guns built to use this propellant have to be built differently to last longer. Airsoft pistols are not interchangeable in how they are powered with the exception of a few models.

The three models of pistols we're looking at today are the:

  • Umarex Walther PPS M2
  • Umarex Beretta APX
  • Umarex HK VP9.

All of these will be CO2-powered and will have a metal slide and polymer frame. They will be of varying prices but all will be under $100. These will be partial blowback so the slide will move back partially as the name implies.

Compared to a "full" gas blowback, those will have a full travel slide and be able to be taken down like a real firearm. And that's the main difference in what you pay for in the pistol is how much realism you want. Both types of gas blowbacks will shoot BBs as good and be effective to use in a game.

But coming in at under $100, these pistols are great for budget minded players who want recoil and and overall more fun experience than a non-blowback pistol can give. This is also good for those who aren't ready to commit their attention to taking down their guns and performing more intense maintenance yet.

In the vibrant world of airsoft, Glock-style gas pistols have emerged as a formidable choice for players seeking a blend of realism, reliability, and affordability. While the article highlights the allure of Umarex's CO2-powered offerings under $100, it's essential to recognize the parallel appeal of Glock airsoft guns within the same budget range. These Glock replicas, known for their durable construction and authentic shooting experience, provide an excellent alternative for enthusiasts captivated by the precision and ergonomic design synonymous with the Glock brand. Whether you're drawn to the tactical advantage of a Glock's full-sized magazine or its iconic aesthetics, the market offers several gas-powered Glock models that promise to deliver not just on performance but also on the immersive experience airsoft players crave. Embracing a Glock airsoft pistol means stepping into a realm where quality meets cost-effectiveness, ensuring that players can enjoy the best of both worlds without compromising on the thrill of the game.

Now let's talk about each pistol.

Umarex Walther PPS M2

Umarex Walther PPS M2

This pistol is a slim compact pistol based on the real Walther PPS M2 designed for concealed carry. Though concealed carry is not really a factor in airsoft terms (unless you are gearing up for a specific scenario), this pistol's diminutive size is great for players of smaller stature or players with smaller hands. The CO2 is stored in the grip and the magazine is a stick type that holds 15-rounds. This gun, even though its small, does feel really comfortable in hand and the kick is very swift but substantial.

Umarex Beretta APX

Umarex Beretta APX

This pistol is a going to be a bit larger than the PPS M2, more along the lines of most pistols like Glocks and so on. This is a unique pistol in that it has a grey slide and black frame color scheme. It is pretty comfortable in hand and is not a heavy gun even with its metal slide. It holds 15-rounds in its stick-type magazine and the CO2 is stored in the grip as well.

Umarex HK VP9

Umarex HK VP9 PBB pistol

This is the most expensive of this group of pistols. Modeled after the real VP9, this pistol was originally designed to contend with Glock-style pistols. Typically HK likes to make double-action pistols and are known for the USP and HK45 series pistols. This pistol is different and a bit more practical than the rest. This uses a full-sized magazine with the CO2 stored inside the magazine. What this does for you is that if you have to swap magazines really quick, in the other pistols with the CO2 stored in the grip if you swap magazines, you're still limited to how much CO2 you have in the grip. If you are running pretty low as is, it's going to be quite a bit of work you swap out that cylinder in the middle of the game. In other words, it's not something you'd typically do. The VP9 and others with a full-sized magazine have its power source stored inside the mag. If you swap magazines you're also topped off for CO2, so you're ready to rock no matter what. This is a big tactical advantage. The magazine, by the way, holds 14 rounds. I think this pistol feels really good in hand.

If any of these pistols sound good to you, the good news is we have them all and they are potentially available in our mystery boxes, especially in the $100 mystery box. If you want to get any of these pistols outright, I think even then they will serve you well. The partial-blowback pistol category is an underdog in the world of gas pistols and their availability and popularity has only risen in recent times. Don't sell yourself short if this is all you have compared to a full blowback gas pistol. As long as the pistol works, it's really more about how you use it!

Choosing a Glock airsoft pistol means embracing a product where excellence and affordability converge, allowing players to engage in the airsoft sport without sacrificing the quality or the exhilarating rush the game provides. For those in search of a cheap airsoft gun that delivers a high-quality experience, Glock-style gas pistols present a compelling option, embodying the perfect synergy of functionality and cost-effectiveness.
