Just as in the real tactical world, airsofting equipment is not only made to help you look and feel cool but has function behind it that could improve your experience or make your life easier out in the airsoft field. There are many affordable options for backpacks and other types of packs that can do more than just carry a bunch of stuff. But let us start with that. Transporting your gear off and on the airsoft field should best be done discretely, as brandishing your airsoft guns and gear is ill advised. In the case of the airsoft gun, brandishing in public outside of sanctioned play areas could not only be illegal but have serious consequences.
Airsoft guns and gear by design looks very realistic which is a major part of the appeal, but it is important all players take personal responsibility in maintaining a good image for the sport so that we can keep enjoying the game. In addition to carrying your gear, a lot of bags and packs are built with functionality in mind to help you organize better. There is nothing worse than having to dig around a gym bag looking for little knick knacks while you are trying to get ready to get into an airsoft skirmish.

Q: What is an assault pack?
A: An assault pack is a backpack or small pack that can be attached to your chest rig or plate carrier rather than thrown on like a traditional backpack. These are often
worn for missions carrying the most important essentials rather than what you would carry on a long excursion that you would take a regular backpack for.
Q: What is a hydration pack?
A: A hydration pack is usually some sort of assault pack or backpack with the functionality added to carry a bladder. The bladder can come in various sizes and are
reusable and can carry water. Hydration is very important to any physical activity and not hydrating enough can have physical ramifications. The bladder will have a long
tube coming out that can be routed through the pack and onto your gear so that you can drink from your bladder without having to move or adjust anything. The tube will
usually have a valve you can drink from with a protective cover to keep it from getting dirty. The valve may or may not have a cutoff however to drink the valve is to be
bitten down gently. This type of valve is called a bite valve.
Q: How do I maintain a hydration pack?
A: After you are done using your hydration pack, be sure to clean out the bladder so that it is not stale or moldy. Drinking old and dirty water could present a serious
hazard in itself so be sure to clean it properly. There are products on the market to help clean out your bladder and keep it fresh for next time. As a policy, it is best to
empty out the water and store it dry until you are ready to use it next time.
