About the HK USP Compact Gas Blowback Pistol

The USP Compact from HK is a smaller variant of the normal USP. These are essentially scaled down from their bigger brother and feature a slimmer grip. They were designed with concealment in mind and come with a bobbed hammer to prevent snagging in case you had to draw from concealment. All the main features of the USP are ever present although the recoil reduction system has been omitted for a simpler setup. The gun has an ambidextrous magazine release and is configured with the slide lock and thumb safety/decocker to be accessible to right handed shooters in its primary variant.

The USP lineup from HK came as a result of the US SOCOM offensive handgun trials. HK developed the USP and that gave way to the Mark 23 pistol. After that project, HK took their research and made it available for the rest of the world with the release of the HK USP .40, followed by the 9mm and .45. The USP family of pistols is a modular system, allowing armorers to reconfigure the fire control system around the chassis. The body is polymer with a metal slide, following their history with the VP70 pistol.
