The KM, or Keymod, rifles from Classic Army are members of their Skirmish series, which feature a strong but lightweight polymer body, and heavily upgraded internals right out of the box. These rifles blow pretty much everything else out of the water at their price point too: just under $200.
The KM10 and KM12 have 10 inch and 12 inch keymod rails respectively. Each of these guns also has an additional 2 inches of barrel poking out from under the rail that terminates in standard 14mm CCW threads for attaching the flash hider or suppressor of your choice. This rifle is also compatible with most standard AEG pistol grips stocks.
The key external features of this rifle are the nylon fiber body and the keymod rail system. The nylon fiber gives the gun a very matte look, and doesn't have any creak or gloss as with polymer or ABS bodied guns. It also manages to maintain a very low level of flex. "High quality" are definitely the words that come to mind when describing the nylon fiber construction. The keymod rail system is also made out of the same nylon fiber, giving the rifle a very sleek and uniform look from muzzle to stock. This rail has no noticeable wobble and is secured tight to the receiver. It has standard keymod rail slots on the bottom and sides, allowing for the mounting of keymod accessories such as the pictured Speed Airsoft Keymod Angled Foregrip. On top, the upper rail section on this rifle extends flush from the receiver to the end of the rail, making it perfect for mounting optics wherever you'd like along this section. We chose to put our Lancer Micro Red & Green Dot Sight at the very front of the receiver, and put our Bravo PEQ15 Laser and Flashlight in front of it.
Internally, this rifle is absolutely packed with features. Starting from the rear, it has low resistance Deans connectors already soldered on! This might worry those of you with Tamiya connectors on your batteries, but fortunately for you, the KM10 and KM12 include a Deans to Tamiya adapter. Additionally, this rifle comes with an airsoft MOSFET installed right out of the box, preventing your trigger contacts from burning out and also allows you to use higher voltage LiPo batteries. The standard Classic Army Version 2 gearbox is perfectly compatible with any V2 upgrade or replacement parts out there. Upgrades and repairs will be a breeze with this rifle. Classic Army also includes a 6.03mm tightbore barrel installed in this gun right from the factory, making it quite the performer in its stock condition!
To sum up how well priced this rifle is for all it's features, we at Fox would charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 to install a
good MOSFET, a precision tightbore barrel, and deans connectors with labor. It's practically as if you're getting this gun for under $50 with how upgraded it is out of the box.
