The thrill of an impending airsoft event is unmatched, and when it's the much-anticipated "1861 2" hosted by American Milsim, the excitement reaches a fever pitch. From carefully chosen clothing to strategic gear, every element plays a vital role in shaping my experience on the battlefield. It's been quite a while since I've attended a large event like this one, so this blog post is really more of a checklist to make sure I've got everything!
The Basics:
My loadout begins with a versatile chest rig, a backbone for all my essential equipment.
Layered under the chest rig, a leaf suit takes me a step closer to becoming one with the environment. Its camouflage properties are nothing short of remarkable.
I'll be using the iconic M81 Battle Dress Uniforms (BDUs), complete with their distinctive woodland camouflage pattern.
No outfit is complete without a signature accessory, and my boonie hat serves as a functional yet fashionable addition.
Weaponry and Ammunition:
Equipping myself with an LCT AK 104 for "1861 2" is a deliberate nod to history's impact on modern technology. This airsoft gun effortlessly marries the aesthetics of yesteryear with the cutting-edge performance required for the event.
To ensure I remain a force to be reckoned with on the field, I've armed myself with seven mid-capacity magazines.
I'll be bringing a total of three 11.1v LiPo batteries to make sure I don't need to charge batteries mid game, along with plenty of ammo.
Strategic Essentials:
Communication is paramount on any battlefield, and my phone equipped with GOTAK software ensures seamless coordination with my team.
As the "1861 2" event spans multiple days, my trusty three-day rucksack becomes an indispensable companion. Inside I'll have an inflatable sleeping mat, sleeping bag, backpacker meals, and personal hygiene items. I might as well be comfortable!
To ensure I stay hydrated and focused during intense battles, my day pack houses a reliable water supply, along with more snacks than I realistically will need.
I'm looking forward to meeting many of you at the event. You'll find me on the "COST" team. See you there!
