Gas guns are loads of fun to shoot, from the pistols to the rifles if they can be had. They offer some recoil, realistic moving parts, and overall make the game more exciting to play. But they might not be for everyone. Magazines cost more, ammo capacity is less, and you have to do some real maintenance on it. Guns like these do need more proper care and maintenance to keep them running though since their function and realism are comparable to the real thing. You have to consider these are airsoft replicas offering you the fun at the fraction of the cost of the real thing in many cases so you have to take care of them better than you would other guns. That being said, we recommend gas guns for mature players who understand this and take better care of their equipment over a new player. If you are somewhat experienced and getting into gas guns, we recommend a semi-automatic gas blowback pistol as your first step into this category of airsoft gun. The investment is relatively low for the satisfaction you get and you can start to learn about cleaning and oiling on the pistol. Depending on the gun you get, some gas guns require CO2 and some use green gas. CO2 comes in those familiar little 12 gram cartridges.
This section contains current gas rifle and SMG offerings from Umarex/Elite Force Airsoft. If you are looking for pistols, we have a dedicated section for those as well. Umarex is a major company which brings us some awesome licensed replicas of our favorite guns. They have licensed replicas of guns from many real companies such as Beretta, H&K, Walther, and Glock to name a few. Their replicas of HK licensed guns is especially exciting because it brings us cool SMGs like the MP7, made famous by movies, video games, and of course the elite tier operators and organizations that use them.
Umarex takes extra great care in making their gas SMGs like the MP7 extra realistic as these are premium gas guns. The exterior is made out of polymer for the majority of the gun with a metal reinforced internal chassis just like the real thing. The gun is completely ambidextrous with the charging handle, selector, magazine release, and bolt catch are accessible for left handed shooters. When you shoot, the bolt locks back when the magazine is empty. Yet nothing is more satisfying to these models than the recoil and joy you can from using their full auto capability. HK's slogan is "No Compromise", and none were made here when their lineup of guns was replicated in airsoft form. Since most modern HKs have high polymer content for the externals, it should be noted that the quality of polymers used in the airsoft version were not compromised upon either. The polymer used is dense and sturdy with the right look and feel to it. If you have ever held a cheap plastic airsoft gun you will see an immediate difference in the plastics. All these little details add up in making some of the best airsoft guns out there.
