Q: What if I need replacement parts?
A: We offer magazine rebuild kits for some of our magazines, that can replace the parts on a magazine that wear down over time. These include replacement parts for the magazine spring, follower, feed lip, gas route seal, release valve, release valve o-ring, puncture valve, and puncture valve install tool. If you need help repairing your magazine, we can install the parts for you at our shop! Give us a call at 888-316-7816 if you have questions about repairing your magazines.
Q: What ammo should I use?
A: These mags are designed for 6mm plastic airsoft bb’s, and for the weight we’d suggest anywhere between .20 and .32. A .20g (lightweight bb) will be more susceptible to wind than a .28g (heavier) bb weight. A heavier bb will travel slower, but is better in terms of wind resistance and accuracy. Q: How do I maintain my pistol magazines?
A: Green gas magazines have lubricant in the gas, so you won’t have to regularly maintain these as much as a co2 magazine. The co2 magazines will need to be lubricated with silicone oil on the seal and valve. This is to avoid the seal drying out and cracking. It’s important to use a silicone based oil, as anything alcohol based will dry out the rubber components further. A silicone based oil will keep your magazines up and running.
Q: I don’t see the magazine I need. What do I do?
A: We don’t carry every kind of pistol magazine on hand, but we might be able to special order the one you need! Stop by our shop or give us a call at 888-316-7816 to ask if your magazine is available. You can also email us at sales@foxairsoft.com.
Q: What is “single stack” and “double stack”?
A: A double stack magazine has two rows of overlapping rounds, and a single stack only has one row. This allows the double stack magazine to hold more rounds, however a single stack magazine is slimmer in profile.
Q: Should I use green gas or co2?
A: co2 is currently the more common option. A co2 magazine has slightly more velocity than a green gas option, and also has a bit more recoil on a full blow back model. Because of this, co2 performs slightly better than green gas in colder temperatures.
Green gas magazines require less maintenance and are less of a hassle. They have a fill valve which means they can easily be topped off with gas. Co2 magazines are not so simple, since releasing the cartridge would empty the gas. As long as you’re playing in warmer than freezing weather, green gas will work great.
