About the Elite Force H8R Revolver
The Elite Force H8R is an aggressive looking revolver that packs impressive value. This is a unique design from Elite Force that is not based on any particular real counterpart but does have a unique monolithic front that has looks akin to something you would see in futuristic sci fi games and movies. Crazy looks notwithstanding, this revolver is all business. Though the cylinder does not rotate on this design like a real revolver would do, what you have is a rotating clip instead. The trigger functions like a double/single action revolver and you will in fact see the clip rotate when you operate this airsoft gun. Though there is a tiny tradeoff in realism, it still functions as a revolver should. The clip does do a couple things that make practical sense for the airsoft player. First, you get way more ammo capacity at 10 rounds as opposed to the 6 found on an actual wheel gun. Second, the clip is easy to load by simply inserting it into the side of the gun. An actual revolver requires handloading each round one by one into a cylinder. Not the easiest to do in the heat of battle though speed loaders help overcome that somewhat. When you initially purchase the H8R, this revolver comes with 5 x 10-shot clips so you are already off to a good start. The additional 2 packs can only help you run this revolver even longer.
The H8R utilizes CO2 for reliability and power. As you might hear a lot of people saying, CO2 power is great in airsoft pistols due to it being usable in just about any kind of weather hot or cold. When temperatures are lower you might see green gas guns struggle a bit but not CO2. CO2 also has a distinct advantage in terms of availability. You can find CO2 at many places including big box stores. Though we don't always recommend those brands, they will work albeit they will run a bit dirty which necessitates increased maintenance. Cheap CO2 tends to run dirty so remember that. CO2 from airsoft manufacturers will be far cleaner and contain silicone oil additives which will preserve the life of your guns for longer. Being a non-blowback design, the CO2 is used quite efficiently and you can get at least a hundred shots on a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge. The CO2 cartridge is stored in the comfortable contoured grip which has an integrated tool so you can install the CO2 cartridge.
The muzzle end features a rail at 6 o'clock for mounting lights or lasers. There is also a 12 o'clock rail for an optic. There is also a safety lever hidden behind the hammer for added security.
