About the ICS M4 Air Seal Nozzle
This is a factory replacement air-seal nozzle for ICS brand M4s such as the CXP and TransforM4. It has a special taper design that would make it only compatible with ICS guns using ICS M4 hop up chambers. ICS utilizes a split style gearbox for the M4 style guns they offer which makes it easier to work on as a whole.
The air seal nozzle is a component found in the gearbox of your AEG (airsoft electric gun). It sits on the cylinder head and is affixed to the tappet plate. When the trigger is pulled in an AEG, the switch opens the circuit between the battery and the motor. The motor turns the gears which pulls back the piston while simultaneously pulling back the tappet plate. When the tappet plate is moved back it allows a BB to go up into the hopup chamber. The tappet plate is released and the nozzle loads the BB into the chamber and is ready to launch the shot. A split moment later the sector gear completes its revolution and releases the piston. Pushed by the spring, the piston closes in towards the cylinder head and air compression is created within the cylinder. That air travels from the cylinder through the nozzle to send the BB out of the barrel. For tuning, the spring is the primary determinant for fps (velocity) but for fine tuning and efficiency, air seal quality is a secondary factor. Air seal efficiency can be gained with proper piston to cylinder compression, cylinder to cylinder head fitment, and then the relationship between the cylinder head and the air seal nozzle. This component addresses the final step in the pathway for air which is the air seal nozzle and the cylinder head. The o-ring on the nozzle reduces any leaks while still being able to move back and forth on the cylinder head.

Q: Is this something that wears out or breaks over time?
A: No. An air seal nozzle will never wear out or break unless the gun was taken apart and put back together improperly, especially with guns where the lower receiver can be separated from the upper. Novice players who disassemble their gun and jam the nozzle into the hop up and force the gun to close incorrectly will be the primary reason this component gets damaged.
Note: Professional installation is required. Installation and attempted installation will void returns and warranty claims on this item. If you have any additional questions feel free to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at (888)316-7816.
Note: Due to varying manufacturer tolerances for gearbox internals, parts compatibility no matter what version might NOT fit even if it is supposedly correct and fitment is NOT guaranteed. The reality is that some parts may need fitting and some parts might look the same but the dimensions are slightly different enough to not work. This will require technical experience to identify to overcome.
