About the Fox Custom Safety Lever
This is a replacement safety lever for version 2 gearboxes. Use it to fix broken internal safeties or for your next ground up custom gearbox build. Please note that other version 2 gearboxes such as those found in MP5s will use a completely different safety lever and gearbox shell, but the other 95% of the components will be standard version 2. This is just an idiosyncrasy found in the world of gearbox work so if you are an aspiring airsoft tech this is a small but crucial detail you should look into before purchasing this part. Version 3 is the other common gearbox type which you will find in AK and G36 style guns. The trigger blocking functions are all performed on the trigger pieces so in a V3 gun they would not have safety levers like this. The channel for the safety lever is a round hole which on some brands of gearboxes may be a tighter fit for this part and would thus need some filing or light modification. The safety lever is a component part of the gearbox that interacts with the selector plate and trigger. When you move the fire selector on the gun, it is interacting with the selector plate inside the gun. This plate moves the safety lever and when you are in the safe position, inside the gearbox a part of the lever will physically block the trigger to prevent firing. This part rarely breaks though it is not outside of the realm of possibility.
If you can pull your trigger and fire your gun even though your selector is on safe, this part in your gearbox may be at fault.

Note: Due to varying manufacturer tolerances for gearbox internals, parts compatibility no matter what version might NOT fit even if it is supposedly correct and fitment is NOT guaranteed. The reality is that some parts may need fitting and some parts might look the same but the dimensions are slightly different enough to not work. This will require technical experience to identify to overcome.
