About the BFG HK Style Sling Hook
Blue Force Gear has a number of options in terms of slings and sling customization. The Blue Force Gear HK style hook is an addon that you can apply to your existing sling to make it quick detach. As the name denotes, HK (Heckler & Koch) style means these are the same hooks found on the old school HK slings which interfaced with airsoft guns with small sling eyelets like the famous MP5. If you already have a Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Application Sling (padded or non padded versions), you can upgrade with this hook to make it quick detachable. Your sling should have all the necessary hardware already to allow this conversion.
By default, most of the BFG slings come with the traditional strap style attachment. You can adapt any similar sling though to one of the upgraded attachments below to make it have more functionality. We like Blue Force Gear for their high quality pouches and slings. This is our go-to choice when it comes to premium slings. Other slings that are more affordable will certainly get the job done though. What you are getting with the premium Blue Force Gear slings are the stronger and more durable nylon used, the signature features, and the comfort of knowing these slings and the rest of their gear is the real deal.
Traditional Strap Style
With this method you loop the webbing through a sling loop (typically 1" or 1.25"), then loop it back around and secure with a buckle.
Snap Hook Adapter Style (using this item)
You can take the traditional strap style sling mentioned above and loop it through this adapter instead of with the gun. Now you have one point that is quick detachable (purchase a pair and you can convert it to make it two points!)
MASH Hooks Adapter
The MASH hook takes a different approach over the snap hook style. The theory is that being a single piece, there are no springs or other hardware to fail. This hook works like a key ring where the ring overlaps somewhat and it is opened by squeezing the adapter in the middle to open i t up.
Push Button Swivel
The Push Button style swivels feature a button on the end to quickly disconnect the sling from a round socket found on some rails, stocks, and aftermarket sling mounts.
