Action Sport Games (ASG) was founded in 2003 and is a Denmark company which is widely known for their replica firearms. ASG offers a huge selection of Airsoft guns, airguns, BB and pellet guns. They hold numerous licenses from real firearm manufacturers and produce quality licensed replicas from companies such as McMillan in the case of the M40A3 Sniper Rifle we are taking a look at.
Action Sport Games released the M40A3 sniper rifle which was a welcomed addition to the sniper rifles on the market. The M40A3 is our favorite spring powered sniper rifle, and for good reason.
The
ASG M40A3 features
a licensed McMillan stock A4 style stock. McMillan is well known for
building some of the finest rifle chassis on the market. The rifle
has a phenomenal trigger pull out of the box and boast substantial
power in stock configuration. There are factory upgradable parts
offered by ASG which not only improve the power and trigger pull, but
also the reliability of the trigger and piston components.
The
rifle has a textured vertical grip with enlarged palm swell
to give the shooter a comfortable accurate grip on the gun. The
square, textured fore-end is perfect for resting on a bag in a
supported firing position. ASG also included a picatinny
rail with elevation built into the scope base, which should
compliment long range work with the trajectory of an airsoft
gun.
McMillan A4 stocks also come with an adjustable cheek
rest which is perfect for fitting all types of optics and is
mandatory to achieve a perfect cheek weld.
Action Sport
Games also has a front picatinny rail system which is perfect for
mounting numerous accessories such has IR illuminators, lasers, and
passive thermal and night vision optics.
ASG's McMillan M40A3 is a faithful replica of the United States Marine Corps M40A3 Sniper Rifle. It is beautifully crafted by Vega Force Company of Taiwan and is extremely high quality. The gun comes out of the box shooting approximately 450 FPS with a .20 gram BB. There are numerous accessories for the rifle offered by ASG to simplify the upgrade mystery that plagues most sniper rifles. Typical problems like trying to fit aftermarket sniper rifle parts made for Tokyo Marui VSR-10 or Maruzen APS2 guns into china BAR-10 or L96 clones and having slight compatibility issues are a thing of the past.
With all the upgrade kit and tight bore barrel offered by ASG along with some secret Fox Custom modifications to the rifle we have seen approximately 600 FPS with a .20G BB. Obviously we would be using a heavier BB for actual game play, but for velocity testing purposes we are using a .20G BB as the standard.
A “Zero Trigger” is available for the rifle from ASG and will handle the upgraded spring from Action Sport Games and will provide a phenomenally crisp, clean trigger pull.
Overall we give this a solid 9 out of 10 rating in regards to sniper rifles.
