The gearbox inside an automatic electric gun (AEG) will contain many small springs that help the components interact with each other and give the AEG the functions that it has. When building out a gearbox from scratch or working on your airsoft gun, these springs are all required for your airsoft gun to work properly. We offer spring sets to match the most popular types of airsoft guns which for the most part share these types of springs with very few exceptions. The typical springs you will find would be at the very least a trigger spring, anti reversal latch spring, tappet plate spring, a trigger shuttle spring, and a cut off lever spring. These springs are situated inside and sometimes outside of the gearbox but are laid out in such a way that they should never come out inadvertently.
These springs don't provide a significant amount of tension so they are small but last indefinitely. Because they are small, if you pull or stretch these springs you could potentially damage them and make it possible for them to fall out of place in operation so exercise caution when removing or installing these tiny springs. These springs may seem small and insignificant but they all have important functions inside the gearbox so if you have issues with your selector (issues with full auto and semi), gears winding back, tappet plate not being tensioned properly, or the trigger not reseting, these are all possibly relating to those small springs. AEGs that utilize microswitch or electronic trigger assemblies might not need all of these springs.

Q: What do version types mean?
A: The version numbers refer to the types of gearbox variations that the spring set is specific too. Gearboxes as they were conceived were named to help determine what parts are compatible with each other. The version numbers are not a comparative number system so an airsoft gun with a version 3 gearbox does not mean it is a better airsoft gun than one with a version 2 gearbox.
Q: Do you sell these springs individually?
A: No we do not.
Q: Does every brand kit come with all the needed springs?
A: Sometimes these do not come advertised as including all the required springs, so be sure to read carefully what you are getting.
Q: Are all these springs needed?
A: Some gearboxes that feature electronic triggers and special MOSFET units might not use all the springs found in a conventional gearbox. You will have to research or consult the manufacturer so what you need.
Q: How long do these springs last?
A: These AEG gearbox springs should last indefinitely unless damaged by improper installation or removal during servicing.
Q: Are there upgrades for these springs?
A: These springs do not provide any performance and are moreso for the function of the airsoft gun in all aspects. As such there are no real upgrades to these springs. They either perform their function or do not. Replace the offending spring if you suspect it will no longer do its job or provide the adequate tension.
