About the Echo1 SOG 68 Flash Hider
This metal flash hider by Echo1 will enhance the look to your guns. It is based loosely on the flash hiders found on the earliest of the CAR-15 style rifles found in the hands of Special Forces soldiers during the Vietnam War. The CAR-15 is essentially the grandfather to the M4. This flash hider would look at home on your retro build however some players have told us they like the look of it on their pistols because it looks like a stubby suppressor. We'll let you be the judge of that.
Q: Does this item have any effect on my airsoft gun?
A: No, it has no function in airsoft and would not affect performance in any way. It is strictly for looks.
Q: Is installing this in place of my orange tip legal?
A: Airsoft guns that are imported into the United States are required by law to have a permanently affixed orange tip. This law only stipulates that it has the tip when it arrives on our shores. However once sold through a retailer the orange tip laws are at the discretion of your local government. Please treat your airsoft gun as if it were real and be mindful about how you transport it and display it.
Q: What is the difference between a muzzle brake and flash hider?
A: A compensator has a small bore throughout but will have chambers and ports to bleed off or redirect gases. A flash hider or flash suppressor on the other hand is an open type design with a wide open exit on the bore side. The flash hider reduces muzzle signature by dispersing the unburnt gases when rounds are being fired. The intent of these devices are twofold: the primary being to prevent the shooter from being blinded by the blast of their own muzzle and the secondary purpose is to reduce the intensity of the flash visible to the enemy which can lead to being discovered and concealment being broken.
About Echo1 USA
Echo1 USA is one of the oldest names in airsoft in the US. In the early days of airsoft in America your only choice for airsoft guns and parts was only by ordering very expensive items from overseas with a risk of getting your items seized by customs. Secondly the guns were made to shoot at a spec that is suited for markets that do not allow for high power making them often collector grade unless you put some work into them. Echo1 brought us the first guns you could buy here in the US that were not only affordable but have the performance we desire for people who actually play the game of airsoft. Echo1 USA is still a main player in America and many brands that we now talk about in America owe it to Echo1 for paving the way.
