The air seal nozzle is a component inside the gearbox of an automatic electric gun (or AEG) and its function is two-fold. First, the nozzle moves back and forth as your gun cycles and shoots. The current gear position dictates the tappet plate position which dictates nozzle position at its rest. If the nozzle is drawn back there is a BB from your magazine that is fed into the chamber. When you pull the trigger and complete a shoot cycle, the nozzle very quickly moves forward to chamber to seat the BB and as the piston is released, the compressed air is pushed out through the nozzle which will have made a seal with the bucking and sends the BB out in force. Any components in regards to delivering air to the BB is considered compression parts. These parts include: the air seal nozzle, cylinder head, cylinder, piston head, piston head o-ring, and piston body. The piston assembly is driven by the spring which is held in place by the spring guide. If you need help having your air seal nozzle installed, we offer tech services to upgrade your airsoft gun.

Q: How do I upgrade my velocity?
A: The first way you should tackle velocity upgrades is by changing a spring that will get you in the ballpark of your desired velocity. Installing better compression parts can bring some additional small performance gains to get the most out of your AEG.
Q: Do I need to upgrade my nozzle?
A: Most stock nozzles work fine however if you want to increase the efficiency of your gun, improving compression with parts such as an upgraded nozzle with an o-ring would be the way to go.
Q: What makes a good air seal nozzle?
A: Material is not important as you think. You can get either metal or plastic ones, the material does not matter as this part is not under stress. What does matter is that there is no air loss between the air nozzle and the cylinder head. Having a good seal is how you will get the most out of your gearbox for efficiency. The nozzle should still be able to slide back and forth on the cylinder head without much friction.
Q: What nozzle works on my airsoft gun?
A: If you should desire to replace or upgrade the nozzle to your airsoft gun, we strongly urge you match the length exactly rather than purchasing a prepackaged nozzle outright. Changing to the incorrect nozzle length could result in huge FPS losses or inconsistent or no feeding. The profile should also be considered as the nozzle dragging inside a hopup unit will result in FPS losses as well.
Q: How long does an air seal nozzle last?
A: The air seal nozzle can last indefinitely, whether it is plastic or metal. There are two ways an air seal nozzle might need to be replaced: 1) if you desire to get better compression out of every last part, 2) if the nozzle has somehow cracked. The nozzle does not typically just break unless it was forced on when installing the gearbox into the hop up chamber or forcing a gun body together.
