Now, let's dive into the details of the NcSTAR Scope Rings:
The NcSTAR Scope Rings are a pair of low-profile scope rings designed for use with standard airsoft scopes and picatinny rails. These rings have a diameter of 30mm, but they also come with spacers to adapt the rings for 1" scopes if needed.
When it comes to selecting the right scope rings, it's essential to consider factors such as eye relief and the desired mount height. Eye relief refers to the distance between your eyes and the scope for optimal viewing. Proper eye relief ensures a clear and unobstructed view through the scope. The mount height, whether low or high, depends on the type of gun or rifle you have and its stock configuration.
Low mounts are ideal for hunting-style guns or rifles with stocks that sit low on the receiver. These mounts allow the scope to sit closer to the bore of the gun, maintaining proper eye relief. On the other hand, high mounts are suitable for guns like M4s, where the stock is nearly in line with the receiver. High scope rings can also be used to compensate for bulky headgear, such as masks, ensuring a comfortable shooting experience.
Mounting a scope too high off the gun can introduce a significant disparity known as "height over bore." This offset between the scope and the bore can make it challenging to zero your scope properly. However, once zeroed, you must consider that if you zero parallel to the bore, your shots will always hit at the height the scope sits above the barrel. Alternatively, if you zero for the exact point of impact, the trajectory will only intersect at that specific distance, resulting in high or low shots at other distances. To simplify matters, it's generally recommended to keep the scope closer to the barrel of your gun.
When it comes to choosing between a 30mm or 1" scope, it's important to understand that the larger tube diameter (30mm) allows more light to enter the scope, resulting in a cleaner and brighter picture. However, 1" scopes are more common in consumer-grade options and are generally more affordable and readily available. Beyond the tube diameter, it's the feature set of the scope that becomes the primary determining factor in making a choice.
