Though buckings in AEGs are practically universal with some small exceptions, gas pistol and sniper rifle buckings are somewhat of a different story. That said, there are many manufacturers trying to standardize around the TM (Tokyo Marui) style of bucking found on their gas pistols and VSR-10 sniper rifles. This cut of bucking and barrel is different than AEGs are are not compatible nor are the individual components interchangeable. OEM (original equipment manufacturer) buckings, aka what comes installed in your gun from the factory, are often adequate in function and are suited to work very well in most situations. That said, if you suspect your bucking has gone bad or wish to squeeze more accuracy out of your airsoft pistol or sniper rifle, a bucking upgrade might be the easiest and cheapest thing you can do and have tangible results. If you need professional help building and tuning that popular airsoft sniper rifle platform that you own or intent to get, we offer tech services to do such upgrades.
Q: Why should I upgrade my bucking? A: Buckings are made of rubber and over time they could dry up or tear, compromising the performance of your airsoft guns. This should
be considered a wear item and replaced every so often to keep your airsoft gun in proper working order. Some people upgrade
buckings to different styles and compounds to achieve better accuracy as well. Q: How do I maintain my bucking? A: Use 100% pure silicon oil to lubricate the bucking and help it last longer. Avoid using force when cleaning the barrel as it could tear or
damage the bucking. Avoid using gun oils and gun cleaners as those chemicals are much too harsh for airsoft guns and their inner
components, as well as anything containing petroleum such as WD40. Using these types of cleaners and solvents void your warranty
with us and the manufacturer. Q: What type of bucking is best on my sniper rifle? a: A bucking designed for higher velocity airsoft guns will work best on a sniper rifle. Buckings intended for this use are known as hard
buckings and use a rubber compound that is going to be more durable and resist wearing out when being used in a high velocity
shooting airsoft gun. Q: What type of bucking is best on my pistol? A: Assuming you have options for your pistol platform (meaning they take TM style buckings), softer buckings tend to work better and
last longer since airsoft pistols do not shoot nearly as hard as a rifle. Q: My shots are curving left or right, what should I do? A: Assuming the gun is in otherwise working order, make sure the bucking and barrel is seated and aligned perfectly. A slightly off center
hop up nub or bucking, or an inner barrel that is not correctly installed could produce results such as shots curving laterally. Q: How do I know what bucking to get? A: Manufacturers will label their buckings one of two ways: either hard/soft type or by degree. Bucking manufacturers who indicate the
hardness of their buckings indicate so with a degree or number rating system where typically the higher numbers mean that it is a
hard bucking. Generally speaking, a 50 degree bucking is considered soft and 70 degree and up might be considered hard. This is
subjective to the manufacturers claims.
